This is a series in progress that looks at the farms of Princeton, MA from a bird's eye perspective. Often overlooked is the contrast between field patterns, stonewalls and historic architecture and the 'wildness' around them. The juxtaposition between the cultivated and the natural landscape is documented in these abstracted views.

These paintings are part of a series done during an early master planning phase for Charbrook Farm. The siting of the house, barns and outbuildings, as well as circulation, field patterns and tree rows were all considered landscape elements. Viewsheds from various approaches as well as perspectives were studied.
This series documents a trip across the world to learn more about family heritage. Through these paintings, landscape experiences are interpreted and memories are preserved.
